Federal Pell Grant – The Federal Pell Grant is a post-secondary educational federal grant program funded by the U.S. Department of Education. This type of support is usually awarded to students – those who have not obtained a bachelor’s degree or diploma. The maximum funding amount for the year 2008-2009 is $ 4731 and $ 5,400 to increase by up to 2012. This is by far the largest grant available today.
FSEOG Program – The Federal Supplementary Education Opportunities Program (FSEOG) provides grants on the basis of the needs of students with low incomes to improve access to higher education. FSEOG Prices range from $ 100 to $ 4,000 per year. The amount of compensation is determined by the office of your school financial aid. Federal Pell Grant recipients have priority for FSEOG awards.
Academic Competitiveness Grant – Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG) is a support program of the federal government, new funding for 2006-07, that eligible students can not receive more than two years. The maximum first year ACG is $ 750 per academic year ($ 375 per semester at CSUF). CAG second year maximum of $ 1,300 per academic year ($ 650 per semester). Students eligible for these grants into one of the more than 4,000 participants post-secondary institutions.
