TASK AND ROLES:

You will work in a group of three and your role will be to research the following points from a child’s perspective:

1. the immigration process on Ellis Island

2. draw a timeline of Ellis Island starting in 1890 when a Federal Government decided to build the first Federal Immigration Station on Ellis Island.

3. build a family tree using the template on History Channel

4. write a short paragraph in a diary of a 11-year-old immigrant child

5. complete the quiz




PROCESS:

You will work on the process together, helping each other to draw conclusions from the text read on the given websites.

• Each of you will write a short paragraph in a diary of an 11-year-old immigrant child. You will hand it in to a teacher in a form of a 3-paragraph essay. Please read the Boy’s Journey on this website:
