Ecotourism: ‘Giving Back’ While You Travel, History of Indian Church Development Project in Belize

A group of artists, architects and archaeologists in part by the tireless efforts of K. motivated Pierce has agreed, with the inhabitants of the Indian church in Belize work to create a local craft shop or home industry to improve the quality craftsmanship you Maya Tourists can sell produce. Our efforts, including educational programs, including library and literacy workshops and a scholarship program. We hope that this is ultimately an economic base and education for most people in this very rural village (a village, not even electricity and whose school ends for students under 13 years!).

In summer 2000, we received a small grant for crafts, to teach people in Indian Church Village, Belize and in integrating the community with the Lamanai archaeological site. We worked on this project, handicraft training since then. In recent years, many art workshops for the residents of Indian Village have been carried out church. We focus on Mayan art, especially that found on the site Lamanai, and the revival of old handicraft traditions. There are four groups, and now the metal smiths, potters, masons and a sewing group.

A community-based organization called Indian Church Village Artisans (ICVA) has been formed and registered with the Government of Belize. We received a grant from the British High Commission to build a craft in the village. The building was completed in 2003 and now it is necessary to continue to look for additional funding for equipment and supplies, and to inform the funding to several classes. The project also has funding through the efforts of K. It’s time for science fair projects again. Many fear the students of these missions, but there’s really no reason to panic. For the basic level, you could something as simple as a crystal grows to do the garden. But for the medium-or high-school science fair projects, you probably need something that more scientific research and experiments that require using the scientific method to do. Science Fair Projects should be entertaining and interesting, and you’re done, you learn something new to share with your friends and family.

One of the best things about doing science fair projects is that they do not like homework. You can choose the topic, ask questions, and design experience. If you analyze the results, it is not necessarily right or wrong answers. Many young people find it much more fun than school.
